Adele's '25' Hits Diamond Status in Less Than a Year

The British singer and songwriter sold 10 million copies of her new album in just a little over 10 months of its release.

After a long break from music for four to devote herself to her family, ‘25’ was released in November 2015 and it just flew to the top with the help of the seven-times platinum single "Hello" as well as hit singles "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" and "When We Were Young”.

Adele continues to reap success with this album, which has enabled her to become the millionaire singer in the history of Britain in 2016 - according to The Sunday Times. Well thanks to hits like Hello and When We Were Young which managed to raise more than double over the last year, from $50 million to $120 million.

This year, Adele ranks as the leader of the Billboard’s best-selling albums in the last year, raising $16.3 million for that concept.

This is a whole new record for Adele, having her previous album, 2011's 21, propelled by hits "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You," take almost two years to hit diamond in November 2012. Adele continues her sold-out North American tour, which runs through a November 21 date in Phoenix, Arizona.
